Thursday April 17th, 2008 - 10:46AM
Senior federal District Court Judge Lacey Collier, chair of the non-profit Community Maritime Park Associates (CMPA) Board of Trustees, will be the featured speaker at the April 18, 2008, luncheon meeting of the Panhandle Tiger Bay Club.
According to Dony Usry, speakings appointments manager for the club, Judge Collier will give an update to Tiger Bay members.
For those of you unfamiliar with Tiger Bay, Ms. Usry sent Friends some information about the club:
"The Panhandle Tiger Bay Club, established in 1977 by the late Pensacola News Journal columnist Pat Lloyd, is a non-partisan membership group of men and women who are interested in public policy issues and politics. The Club brings in prominent speakers who address topical issues, and present ideas which are intended to provoke curiosity and provide insight, as well as generate debate and community discussion. Speakers come from local, national and international sources.
Members are diverse in age, education, occupation and interests. The Club accepts members from all races, ethnic groups and social and religious backgrounds. A volunteer Board of Directors, which is elected annually from the membership, manages the Panhandle Tiger Bay Club.
The Panhandle Tiger Bay Club holds a monthly luncheon program and an annual dinner meeting. Member dues cover the cost of meetings, meals, speakers and mailings. Dues may be paid annually or quarterly. Current dues are $250 per year if paid in full in January, or $280 per year if paid in $70 quarterly payments. No refunds are made for missed meetings and membership is not assignable. Members may bring guests for an additional charge."
