Hon. Sam Hall,
Until I came to Pensacola in the late '90s I felt that Fort Pierce was the only city in Florida that completely neglected the intrinsic value of it's waterfront. There were racial and economic reasons that prevented Fort Pierce from developing (we called it "Port Fierce"). Is there anyone in a position of authority that does not understand the economic impact of a developed waterfront for tourism, business, employment and rejuvenation of downtown?
We need to find a way to finance the waterfront park. We need to make downtown Pensacola a destination, a place to enjoy, a place to be entertained, a place to shop, a place to stay. The people of Pensacola have voted for a park and it is time for people in positions of authority to make it happen. I hope you will be one.
