Subject: Community Maritime Park Funding

Dear Councilman Hall:

I urge you and your fellow City Council members to begin pursuing alternative financing options for the Community Maritime Park. While we are all optimistic that the Supreme Court will revise its findings in such a way that the Maritime Park is not affected, there are no guarantees. We need to begin exploring other options for financing the park while we have time, in order to prevent delays in the future. Right now is an important time in the park’s development. The master developer candidates will be submitting their responses to the Request for Proposal sometime next spring, and we need to be able to assure them that this park will be built! Let’s keep the momentum going! This park will be a catalyst for growth and development in our community, and it is very important that the community sees our City Council doing whatever it can to make the park a reality.
