Hon. Sam Hall,
This is just a short note to let you know my feelings about the Community Maritime Park. Pensacola has long been a proponent of status quo at the expense of our younger people. My father (a professor at PJC) and I once had a talk about the military bringing a large DFAS center to Pensacola. I was in college and was really excited about the opportunity for high paying jobs coming to Pensacola. His opinion was "Why would I want that? I already have a job and all it will do for me is to increase traffic, drive up home prices and taxes to pay for the extra people and services they will need." While he was a very educated man, this thought process does nothing to stop the "brain drain" from Pensacola and the Pensacola Bay area. We need things that young professionals can get behind and support. We need more museums, bigger festival sites and a guarantee of water front access for my kids and their kids. Please find a way to fund this project as I believe it will pay for itself in the future.
Thanks,
Brad Huggins
